Minimum Germination
When purchasing lawn seed always check the minimum germination, also check the due by date to ensure your purchasing fresh lawn seed. All reputable suppliers will list this on the back of the packaging. The higher percentage of minimum germination will ensure better results. If the minimum germination is 85% this means 85 seeds out of 100 will produce a blade of grass. The lower the minimum germination the lesser blades of grass will grow and the more likelihood of weed seed may be present. High germination percentage will give you a better result and a higher quality product.
